Shingrix

We now have Shingrix! Shingrix is an FDA-approved vaccine for the prevention of shingles (herpes zoster) in adults 50 years and older.

It is the only shingles vaccine proven to be up to 90% effective in clinical trials. Shingrix is given as a 2-dose series, with the second shot administered 2 to 6 months after the first shot. To ensure you get the protection against shingles offered by Shingrix, it's important to get both shots.

Because there have been shortages of Shingrix, please call ahead to ensure that we still have Shingrix at our office if you are interested in receiving this vaccine.

Unfortunately, Medicare will only cover Shingrix when it is administered at a pharmacy.

For more information, visit  Shingrix's official website and the CDC's website.

Adacel

Now that Summer is here and the weather is warm, we tend to spend more time outside.

Protect yourself against Tetanus, Diptheria, and Pertussis with an Adacel immunization!

The bacteria that cause tetanus are found in soil, dust, and manure. They get into the body through a puncture, cut, burn, animal bite, or sore on the skin.

Pertussis (whooping cough) is highly contagious and is passed person to person.

Call us to schedule an appointment for an Adacel immunization!

Medicare will cover Adacel only after an injury such as a puncture or scrape.

Unfortunately, we can not give vaccinations to any patients with Medicaid insurance as they will need to go to the Health Department for all vaccinations.
